Business community stepping up to support tour

Planning for the Amazing Ride for Alzheimer’s is reaching a new level this year as the business community is showing overwhelming support. This is the third year I will turn my summer bicycling vacation into a fund raiser for Alzheimer’s; all donations benefit programs at Cedar Community in West Bend. The primary tour sponsor is USCCA along with nice support from Thrivent Financial and Wiedmeyer Trucking. New business sponsors include Salberg Law Firm, Extra Mile Snow Specialists, Horicon Bank, West Bend Plastics and Yahr Oil Inc. This year’s tour partner is Planet Mobile.

Last year I pedaled over 1,031 miles from Nova Scotia to West Bend and the year before I completed 900 miles in Alaska. To date the tours have raised over $93,000. This summer, June 3, I will fly to Italy and spend three weeks bicycling and writing about my adventures, drawing attention to the disease while educating the public on the benefits of music and exercise for people who suffer Alzheimer’s.
